The purpose of water well construction is to provide water supply wells, and its value is generally less than that of oil wells or solid deposit drilling. Generally, the investment in equipment is low, and the engineering cost is low.
Exploration boreholes are generally underground temporary structures drilled for the purpose of reconnaissance. They are used to obtain geological data and boreholes for testing. The purposes of the two are different and should not be confused.
