UY200 Water Well Drilling Rig Helps Remote Peruvian Community Achieve Clean Water Freedom
In early 2025, we were contacted by a private company in the highlands of the Peruvian Andes to solve a drinking water shortage for a remote village in the area that lacked infrastructure. The region’s complex terrain, high altitude and rugged roads made it difficult for large drilling rigs to access, and traditional drilling methods were costly and inefficient. The customer’s needs were clear: a mobile tracked water well drilling rig that was portable, powerful and adaptable, capable of dealing with hard rock formations and complex geological conditions, while meeting the demands of rapid deployment and low maintenance.

After in-depth communication and technical evaluation, we recommended the UY200 portable water well drilling rig and customised its configuration for high-altitude operations. The following are the outstanding performance of UY200 water well drilling in this project:
1.Excellent portability and mobility
UY200 water well drilling rig adopts modular design, which can be quickly disassembled into multiple components and transported by trucks or small trailers, easily traversing through narrow mountain roads and unpaved surfaces, and reaching the work site at an altitude of 4,000 metres above sea level. Its compact size and lightweight structure significantly reduces the difficulty of transport and avoids the damage of large equipment to the environment.
2.Powerful and Efficient Drilling Capability
Equipped with a diesel engine, the UY200 mobile water well drilling rig is able to deliver high torque stably in thin air and easily penetrate the hard basalt and clay layers commonly found in the Andes. Combined with the hydraulic top drive system, the drilling depth per pass is greatly increased, the number of splices is reduced, and the working efficiency is increased by 40% compared with the traditional model.
3.All-terrain adaptability and versatility
Multi drilling modes: supports air drilling and mud circulation drilling, and is flexible enough to cope with arid rock formations and water-bearing gravel formations.
Intelligent hydraulic control: Equipped with electronic throttle valve and friction control lever, the operator can precisely adjust the drilling pressure and speed to respond to geological changes in real time. Customised accessories: the addition of a truck-mounted mud pump and a core pipe quick-release device reduces reliance on auxiliary equipment and simplifies on-site workflow.
4.Durable and low-maintenance design
The key components of the UY200 mobile water well drilling rig are made of military-grade steel and sealing technology to ensure long-term stability under extreme temperature differences and dusty environments. The modular design allows for easy maintenance, and the client’s team requires only basic training to perform routine maintenance, significantly reducing the risk of downtime.

The customer highlighted the following highlights:
Fast response time: 48 hours from equipment arrival to first well, highlighting the benefits of a ready-to-use design.
Cost Savings: Compared to outsourced drilling services, the UY200 water well drilling rig reduces the cost of a well by 60% and has lower maintenance costs than the industry average.
Sustainability: The rig’s environmentally friendly design minimises the impact on the fragile plateau ecosystem and has been recognised by local environmental authorities.
Carlos Mendez, Customer Project Manager, commented:
“The UY200 water well drilling rig is more than just a machine, it is a tool to change the destiny of communities. Its reliability is far superior to other brands we have come across, and it has not broken down even in the extreme environment of -10°C. The team’s professional support has given us confidence in the long-term success of our project. The professional support of the team gives us confidence in our long-term relationship.”
Our drilling rigs have served more than 30 countries, including Niger, Uganda, Peru and Honduras, and have completed more than 100,000 wells, and the durability of the equipment has been verified in multiple environments, such as deserts, rainforests and polar regions.
